Treatment always begins with manual therapy, e.g. joint mobilization, massage, myofascial release and stretching to restore normal range of function. This may be followed by forms of electrotherapy, such as ultrasound, interferential, laser or dry needling (acupuncture).

Treatment may conclude with strapping (Kinesio tape), posture correction, stretching or strengthening exercises. If biomechanical factors have been identified as a cause for the pain then you will be referred to a Biokineticist, who will reassess you and formulate a tailor-made rehabilitative program for you.

At Shamim Khan Physiotherapists your treatment does not progress beyond the third session if physiotherapy is not helping you.

Either your treatment plan is changed or you are referred back to your doctor. If you do have a referring doctor, you will be referred to an appropriate specialist.

You do not have to live with dysfunction and pain. Make an appointment to see one of the physiotherapists at our practice.
